I have done all kinds (besides my JW pioneer work).
I STRONGLY urge you to think about which cause and group will
get the gift of your services.
Make sure it is a cause that you truly care about, and do it
for a group that will TRULY appreciate your sacrifice.

Looking Back, Were You A Bit Oversensitive As A Witness?
by minimus inmost jws that i know of are oversensitive to just about everything!
they are super sensitive when it comes to ever being wrong.
they have a fit if they are aren't called on by the watchtower overseer or is it still conductor?.

The first Witness who accused me of being oversensitive may or
may not have been right.
It's inconclusive, since I ended up being right about what I
accused her of!!! -

Naturism
by joelbear69 inyes, nakedness.
i tend to believe that the end of the world .
started when people put on clothes.

The unnecessary attitudes and hangups associated with
the clothing is what we don't need.
Fundamentalist garbage about dress = no
Wear what you want = yes
(Of course, until we are all enlightened, wearing what you
want must be done with the current laws, etc. in mind) -

praying before a meal
by megaflower ini have stopped.
it brings up too many memorys of having some elder pray for the cong before we partook of any food.
it just seemd like a big production, all would gather around and bow heads in silence while some senior male gave thanks- no more- no thanks

"Bad" songs at JW weddings
by B_Deserter inwhen i was in my teens, jw weddings were quite the social affair.
of course, the music was strictly regulated by the elders.
somehow though, in each wedding, someone managed to get the song "you shook me all night long" by ac/dc into the dj's rotation, and all of the "bad" witnesses would have a blast dancing to it.

Weddings, (and funerals!) have pagan elements.
As a matter of fact, there are few things in the typical wedding ceremony in the US that AREN'T pagan.
But they only worry about the rice?! Please.
On to the reception. While I agree there is some responsibility involved for the entertainment selections, who are you (as elders) to dictate to a groom as head what his conscious "should be" on something?
